Separate ports for audio and channel change information is provided to allow simple installation. Channel change information is provided from voltage free normally open or closed relay contacts via a "D15" socket. This provides flexibility in interfacing to base radio equipment. The relay outputs can be configured as 1 of 8 outputs or 2 x 4 BCD outputs, giving a range of 0-99 channels.
An extended mode of operation can be utilised to monitor and control other features of radio operation, such as mains standby power switching, RF power measurement, low battery monitoring etc. This mode allows up to 4 inputs and 4 outputs to be used.
The 960CD can also be used in conjunction with a 619E 6 way 4 wire audio bridge and associated 619BC Audio Bridge Controller(s) to remotely control multiple audio configurations. The audio source for the decoder can, in fact, be one of the six bridge channels configured as a control channel.
